Kumar for School Board

I am running for the Folsom Cordova Unified School District Board to strengthen the education system through early health education, increased parental involvement, and efficient use of district funds. Specifically, I want to address the issues of district’s rapid growth, classroom sizes, school safety, and parent communications regarding school emergencies.

I will help develop district wide programs for Folsom Cordova Unified School District’s diverse community. These broad based programs will enable every student to accomplish their personal best, whether they are academically gifted or challenged or have special needs or unique talents. I will work hard to raise the level of lower ranking schools through sound fiscal policies, technology, parental involvement, and more comprehensive programs during and after school. I would also emphasis on extracurricular activities such as performing arts, sports, and physical fitness that contribute to the long-term successes and careers of our students.

I will facilitate continuous discussions on finances, educational priorities/programs, safety/discipline, and academic achievement. These discussions will address relevant community issues to improving our district educational system.

I have known Kumar for many years and truly believe that he would be a great school board member. He has a passion for the public education system and believes that it can turn out the best students. FCUSD has had many challenges over the years and faces many more as we plow through the current economic downturn. Some of the schools face bigger challenges than others. Those of us with children in the district need to elect a board member with sound fiscal experience. Go Kumar!

I am just tired of my friends telling me constantly that Folsom schools do better than Rancho ones. How pathetic is that these two cities are in in the same school district but have different standards?

Uniform growth is something that Kumar seems to be concerned about. I don’t know how much he can do to raise the standards of Rancho schools, so I am cautiously optimistic.

    Good start and good luck!!!

Best of luck to you! Given your educational successes and the current educational success of your son, I can’t think of someone more able to serve in this capacity. They would be lucky to have someone serve with such a profound committment to learning.

I have been practicing in Folsom since 1991 and have been in this area since 1986. I am truly delighted that Kumar is running for FCUSD school board. I have seen our school district going through many ups and downs in last 18 years. It is about time that we have some new people with new ideas getting involved in future of our children. Kumar with his vision, dedication, compassion for better education and drive to make necessary changes happen is my candidate for FCUSD board. His experince with State of Californis as manager is a big plus in my mind. We need Kumar on our school board.

I am very excited that Kumar is running for FCUSD position. We need people who are accountable on the School board and in public sector. I have known Kumar for the last 6 years or so. I know he is passionate and dedicated towards the causes he believes in. I am expecting Kumar to bring in the same passion to make the school board more accountable.

    Go Kumar!!!

I have only known Kumar for a short time but know that he will be an asset to the FCUSD. Kumar is a visionary that is passionate about educating our young and ensuring that all children receive the best education possible. His dedication, accountability and commitment are qualities that a board member must have. In supporting Kumar, you will have a board member that will listen to your needs and act upon necessary changes to improve your districts educational needs.

    Best of luck Kumar!

Finally, he decides to take the plunge … Good for everyone. I cannot think of a better cause than this to apply the rare combination of knowledge, vision and drive that he has.

I have known Kumar for over 10 years now, both personally and professionally. I have always found him to be passionate about education. And not just for his son but for himself too. Perhaps some of you know that he has added another feather to his cap as recent as few months back. Now with this added involvement in education system I am sure others can benefit too from what he has to offer. I have no doubt that he will be a great asset to the board.

Good luck and best wishes !!!

I know Kumar for a very short period (less than 4 months to be precise). He is one of the outstanding ‘out-of-the box’ thinkers I’ve ever come across. Excellent in analyzing the problems/situations and coming up with definitive alternatives. He communicates clearly and crisply. Just talk/listen to him once, you will know, no one can better represent your children in the School District.

    Please support Kumar.

Greetings to Benderaikee from one of the harijans over in Rancho Cordova who engineered the defeat of the school split effort in 1996. Apparently you still have a thing or two to learn about living in this country — hopefully your children will come to know better and grow up to be good American citizens.

As for Mr. Kalagara, I commend him on the vigor with which he is waging his campaign. One of his post cards just appeared at my door in the Sunriver neighborhood of Rancho Cordova. Welcome to American politics, Kumar!

If there is anything you want to know about the schools or politics in general in Rancho Cordova, I am only too happy to share what I know with Mr. Kumar and the rest of the blog.

I can tell you Kumar is very sharp, very organized, hates waste and wants every child to get the most out of their education. I have great respect for him. He was my boss for over two years and he challenged us each and every day to do our best as we worked on a huge system conversion effort. Thanks to his management of the project, we were successful in our endeavor. He was a great mentor to me personally, and I’m sure to many others. Each issue or idea presented to him would be carefully considered and he would ultimately make sound decisions. These decisions weren’t always liked by everybody but they were logical and therefore respected and he never backed down when pressured to change his position. He not only has a passion for education, he has a passion for what is right.

I have known kumar for 4 years and have learnt that he is a leader. He leads a group to ideas they do not neccessarily agree on(but will ultimately benefit from) and motivates people go in a direction they do not want to go, but should. Now that is what is needed in these tough times with schools and their budgets and growth issues.

Kumar is a down to earth guy with a steely resolve and his grass roots campaign shows his motivation to join to board.
